Corinna Hernandez learned early in her hairdressing career that she had a talent and passion for education. She naturally gravitated to teaching in her first salon as their network educator for Bumble & Bumble, while also passing along Sassoon techniques that she acquired from her mentor Rowena Hiraga.
After five years as a hairdresser and educator in Northern California at Lush Salon (now Maverique), Corinna moved to NYC to begin a razor cutting apprenticeship at the world-renowned House of Bumble. It was here where Corinna added to her training skillset and was trained to teach stylists how to look at hair differently, to see people as individuals, to work with different hair types differently, the art of consultation, and how to bring out the best in individual stylists. She was taught how to use tools — the razor, scissors, thinning shears, clippers, and more — to achieve the desired result. There was a detailed emphasis placed on proper razor cutting technique here. Corinna was immersed in hair! She kept learning from several educators, taught at the House of Bumble, took clients at the House of Bumble, worked backstage at Fashion Week, and more.
Bumble and Bumble acknowledged Corinna’s talents and relocated her to San Francisco to fly around to salons all across the northwest and western Canada to teach their staff on behalf of Bb. Corinna was simultaneously the lead educator at Edo Salon for six years, teaching razor cutting, styling, and client photography for social media before moving to Barrow Salon, also in SF. You can find her cutting client hair three days a week.
